Oliver Intemann for Die Zeit

Commisiond for Die Zeit
2026

Commisioned portrait of Oliver Intemann for the employment section of Die Zeit called Kontoauszug (Bank statement).

Oliver Intemann narrowly won 1.8 million marks in the lottery, squandered the money, and eventually ended up in insolvency. After turbulent years, he now works as a beverage supplier and leads a modest life.

His story shows how quickly wealth can disappear and how important it is to handle money responsibly. Despite his financial decline, Intemann is now content with his modest income and appreciates the simple joys of life. His journey from millionaire to insolvency and finally to an orderly everyday life is an impressive lesson about the importance of humility and financial responsibility.
